About Leigh Anne
A native of the California Bay Area, Leigh came to NYC in 2002 to pursue her BFA in Acting from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she studied at The Lee Strasberg Theater and FIlm Institute, graduating with honors and the May and Samuel Rudin Scholarship.
As an actor, writer, director, and devised theater maker, Leigh Anne's work has taken her from writing/producing two seasons of the award-winning LGBTQ web series Dates Like This, to making appearances at comedy festivals across the country with The Story Pirates, to developing new work through a space grant at The Park Avenue Armory, to performing immersive works specifically designed for young people on the autism spectrum at Lincoln Center, to taking on the role of childhood icon Kelly Kapowski Off Broadway in the musical parody, Bayside!
Leigh Anne cherishes her work with young people, and serves as an arts/museum educator with many organizations throughout the city. She is also a proud company member of The Story Pirates (www.storypirates.org) and Trusty Sidekick Theater Company (www.trustysidekick.org).
Leigh lives in Astoria, Queens. She has worked professionally as a cake decorator and has collaborated on two books on buttercream decorating with Carey Madden, published by Robert Rose.
